The Konold Family

No, you don’t need glasses.  There are people featured below.  ;-)    A family, in fact.  A family that consists of three amazing dogs (all rescues), two gorgeous (and equally amazing) children, two fabulous (and equally gorgeous) parents…and one stunning (and oh-so-soft) kitty cat.  Whew!  Talk about fun!  While I typically focus on the animal world, because that’s where my cup of tea lies, the Konold’s were an awesome reason to shake it up a little bit.  They are huge animal lovers and are suckers for homeless pets- hee hee.  They are laid-back and fun-loving.  The outdoors is a favorite place of theirs (mine too)!  They are full of life, love and an appreciation for one another.  Does one need any more reasons to want to photograph them?  I didn’t think so. :-)

Thank you ever so much Jodie & Steve (mum and dad), Lily & Elle (sisters), and Scout, Kingston, Murphy, Leland (three doggies and a kitty).  You were all awesome!! :-)

For the record, he doesn’t chomp on anything.  He is SO super chill and laid back.  And I could not stop laughing at his hairdo!

Is he not the most uproarously, pathetic little cocker you’ve ever seen?!  Someone please adopt him and whisk him to a salon, pronto!

Pet Planet Magazine cover hunk, Monty!

Pet Planet Magazine Winter 2010 Cover

Remember Monty?  Of COURSE you do because he’s the cutest little thing in the world of doxie mixes, especially when engulfed in a winter-ey scarf!  His wags to riches year was made by being adopted by a wonderful family, having his first Photohound session and, in turn, ending up on the cover of Pet Planet Magazine!  Soon he’ll have his own star on the boulevard, I’m sure.

If you haven’t checked out Pet Planet Magazine, you should.  To get your copy, visit any one of these fine establishments. The issue is available in both central AND south Florida so to my friends down south, grab one the next time you’re out.  Happy New Year!

Brutus

Brutus is such a wonderful dog.  His personality makes me chuckle because he’s just so mature and serious.  He’s perfectly willing to go along with any plan you have (especially if it involves snacks) but he never complains or gets antsy or brings drama along.  He’s super attentive but in the most reserved and patient way.  If he were a human I’d say he wouldn’t mind living alone in an apartment in the city, reading the paper every morning, enjoying the simple things in life.  He wouldn’t be much of a gossip magazine reader or TMZ watcher because there’s no place for theatrics or conflict in his life.  He’s particular but easy to get along with and you feel comfortable and accepted when you’re in his presence.  I’ve known Brutus and his family of five other dogs for a couple years now and I always enjoy photographing them.  This time, Brutus got a Shortie session all to himself.  It was simply delightful. :-)

I have to make a dedication on Brutus’ post, here, to dear Griffin.  Griffin was an amazingly hopeful foster puppy for whom this Shortie session was scheduled for.  Griffin had some medical concerns, including his back legs that needed some carting around on occasion.  His spirit and the incredible care from his foster parents were providing everything he could ever want in an effort to mend him all up.  However, a week before this session Griffin had to cross over Rainbow Bridge.  It was unexpected but I know Griffin met a lot of people during his time here (his fosters are really good about that) and that little light in his soul brightened everyone’s face that he came across.  I know because I did get the opportunity to meet him a few months ago, when he first came into the family, and I walked away sun-kissed.  :-)   Here’s to you, Griffin….and Shari & Diane for being two of the most incredible foster parents and animal lovers one could ever hope to know.
