Photohound + Dog Day Afternoon = AWESOME SHORTIE SESSIONS!

Just a little taste of what you’re craving if you’re one of the lucky Moms or Dads who got to book a Shortie session, hosted by Dog Day Afternoon.  I had an AMAZING time last week at Dog Day, everything was perfect.  Each and every dog was splendid in their own unique way.  It was great to travel through the layers of personality, getting to work with one after the other and figuring out what they’re all about.  Thank you Dog Day Afternoon and the wonderful parents who let me hog all the attention of their doggies for a day!  :-)

Bacchus

Bacchus1

This is Bacchus, as in, Krewe of.  Yes, how fitting considering Mardi Gras is right around the corner in February!   A dog after my own heart, seeing as a little piece of that heart will always be nestled in Louisiana.  Sigh.  Were he to attend the annual dog version of that parade, Krewe of Barkus, he would surely be king.  His parents brought him up well, focusing his allegiance appropriately toward LSU football, as seen below.  GEAUX TIGERS!

Bacchus3

Yes, high four to that!

Bacchus2

He is a very handsome bulldog and one that I never heard snort the entire time I was with him.  He was just being polite, I’m sure.  ;-)   Although, he never truly fell asleep as we were having so much fun, so I  bet he’s a real good snore-er.  I love his reverse vampire fangs that display themselves so symmetrically.  And his personality?  Seriously.  He is bundle of fun, so curious and up for anything.  He adores his Mom and all the comfy spots to lay in the house.  The upstairs porch was a nice birds eye view of the neighborhood for him and he silently observes all the morning goings-on.

Bacchus4

I had an amazing cool, breezy morning with him as he showed me all his favorite spots, favorite toys and how he dreams of being King.  I told him anything’s possible.  :-) Thank you Bacchus for a parade-worthy, bully-riffic session!

Jackson & Saisha

Jackson is happy.  Jackson is sweet.  Jackson is a gentle soul who puts you at ease when you’re in his presence.

Jackson4

He (warning, throat lump ahead) has recently been diagnosed with bone cancer.  I encourage all who read this to send wonderful thoughts and prayers his way to knock that stupid cancer into smitherines.  I have good reason to believe it will work too.  I knew upon arrival that he had been braving chemo treatments and pain killers so I was fully prepared to keep it slow-going.  Jackson had other plans.  :-)

Jackson1

I happened to bring a squishy soccer ball along to the session and he went crazy for it!  Honestly, I was there for several hours and all he wanted to do was squish, squish, squish with his slobbery Golden mouth.  It never got old- hee hee!  He romped, he chased, he stuck his butt in the air just a munchin’ on that ball.  He rested, oh, once in a while but no more than anyone else would rest.  He doesn’t know he’s under the weather so please don’t tell him, just send those good thoughts and let them float like butterflies around him.  :-)

Jackson3

He has a movie star face and a fabulous character.  He also loves to put his selective hearing ear muffs on when his Mom wants something from him- hee hee!

Jackson2

Saisha is Jackson’s gorgeous sister.  So snuggly soft and dainty.  She knows it too and makes sure to steer all the attention toward her, should someone else be receiving it at any given moment. ;-)

Saisha1

She’s unintentionally comical and loves to fill your range of vision with her face.  It’s so funny, I have quite a few overhead shots of her because the minute I would come to her level, she would get all excited and wag herself over to my eyeballs.  LOL :-)

Saisha2

She is a sweet, sweet girl whose come a long way since her rescue.  Her mom did a wonderful job of getting her to like the world and befriend everyone who’s in it.

Saisha4

Oh, and did I mention she’s a Golden which means she’s ball crazy?  Look at that targeted fetch face- ha ha!  Talk about focus, right?

Saisha3

I had a fabulous afternoon with these two, they certainly made my day.  Thank you Melaina and a very happy birthday to you!

Miss Abigail

Abby4

Abby is just the bees knees.  She’s sweet as pumpkin pie and her little puff face always has a quizzical expression.  She’s a curious little lady.

Abby3

She loves hanging out with her parents and wolfing down – I mean, daintily nibbling, bananas and apples. ;-)   Bananas are her favorite, yum!  During our session she and I padded around Her Majesty’s courtyard playing with toys, collecting pollen on our fur and giving little Abby kisses.  I love little Abby kisses, they are the best.

Abby1

She has tons of toys, a bed in every corner of the house and here’s the absolute cutest part of all….she drinks water from a guinea pig bottle- hee hee!!! How incredibly and ridiculously adorable is that?!  Seriously.

Abby5

Abby2

Abby’s a pure gem and I had a wonderful quiet morning getting to know her.  She runs the house but is pretty lenient with her subjects and I admire that in a ruler.  ;-)   Thank you Abby, Suzanne & Clarke!

Dog Day Shorties!

WEB Dog Day Photo Promo 11x16

Dog Day Afternoon is an awesome space with awesome (and I do mean AWESOME) people.  The staff is simply amazing and every time I’m there, I see overly happy customers coming and going.  Which is why I’m so excited to partner up with them for some Dog Day fun.  Your last chance for some holiday Shortie action is right here.  If you’re not already a lover, now’s the time to see what it’s all about.  I get to work one on one with your dog, in a private outdoor area just for us- yay!  No lines, no reindeer ears, no rules.  It’s pure dog but with the convenience and care that Dog Day Afternoon provides.  A very limited number of appointments will be booked on each day so hop on it! :-)
